Affiliate Marketing For Newbies – How to Get Started
Affiliate marketing has never been a sure fire way to make money online. Sure, you can sign up for some affiliate programs and see how easy it is to get an income. You may be able to make hundreds of dollars a week just promoting something, but the chances of that income being sustained are not very good. So, what is there to do?
The truth is, the only way to really make money with affiliate marketing is by finding something that is already in high demand and saturated with competitors. This means that if you want to make money as an affiliate marketer, then you’re going to need to be pre-selling something that already attracts a huge audience. It’s really that simple. I’ll show you how to find these hot products.
To find a high demand niche that other affiliates are trying to sell you, I recommend checking out my blog. My next few articles will detail exactly what I look for in a niche, and where you can go to find them. But in this article, I’ll tell you how to narrow your focus to an affiliate product that is in dire need of a solution. Once you’ve done that, you’ll have a better chance at making a profit.
In my experience, the best niches are ones with a product or service that doesn’t need a solution (aka “non-niche”). In this case, the competition is low, so you have a bigger chance of making more money. But in order to find one of these niches, you have to be actively searching for them. This is where affiliate marketing becomes tricky. There’s no real way to tell when you’ve hit the jackpot because there aren’t any numbers to base your search on.
If you’re looking for a really hot product that everyone wants, your best bet is to use a keyword research tool to see how many searches have been done for that term. But remember – keywords don’t give you an exact number. So if someone searches for a term, there’s a chance that they’ve done a lot of searches. But if you want to make a very large commission, you have to get your keywords to rank high in the search engines. And that’s where the real work starts.
You’ll definitely have to be active in your affiliate marketing strategy. I always recommend that new affiliates to start out small and build their business up. But before you do that, you need to find a product to promote. You should already know what you want to sell (most people do), but if you’re still building a list, you should offer your subscribers free information that they can download so they can find whatever it is that you have to offer. This can be anything from the latest product releases to how to create your own squeeze page or landing page.
After you’ve found a good product to promote, you’ll have to advertise the product. There are two ways to do this: Pay per click and pay per impression. PPC is more targeted because you only pay when someone actually clicks on your ad. The advantage of PPC is that it’s easy to learn and it can result in big profits quickly. Impressions, however, are a bit trickier and are usually more expensive, but the money you make is much more reliable.
Now that you’ve read this brief guide, you should be better prepared to start making money with affiliate marketing. The best advice I can give is to spend some quality time researching affiliate programs that fit your interests. And make sure that you have a plan for how to drive traffic to your affiliate site – you’ll have a better chance of success.
